# JOINT HEALTH REBOOT CHALLENGE

## The Power of Hydration

### One of the biggest mistakes people make is that they overlook the importance

### of hydration when it comes to alleviating joint pain. 

### Did you know that most of the human body is water?

### An average of 60%

### Hydration plays a key role in your body’s ability to function and heal.

### Water  helps to hydrate discs , prevent stiffness in your muscles and tendons.

### Proper hydration protects  your joints. 

### When we are dehydrated - pain gets amplified.

### Dehydration can also affect your medication  regime - making it less effective.

### Dehydration pulls fluid out of your tissues - increasing body  aches and pains. 

### One of the easiest ways to reduce pain is to increase your daily intake of clean water.

### Your task is to drink a 1/3 of your body weight in fluid ounces per day .

### Plus another 8 ounce glass  for every hour of exercise.

### And add an additional 8 ounces for any vice (pop, juice, alcohol,  caffeine).

### Here are my 2 tips:

### 1. Start your day with a glass of water. This will help you set up your day for success. At the start of the day also place a water bottle in front of your workplace for ease of access.

### 2. Reduce what dehydrates you. Alcohol, pop, juice and caffeine are all dehydrators. If you are finding it hard to get your water quota of the day - drop one of the drinks that dehydrates you.
